The Third Round Draw for the BBC Essex Senior Cup has been made and broadcast tonight on BBC Essex.

Round Three sees the introduction of clubs from the Football League, the National League and the Isthmian and Southern Leagues into the competition, who joined the sides who progressed from Round Two.

Due to East Thurrock United withdrawing from Senior Football, the last team drawn received a bye into Round Four.

We were joined for the draw by White Ensign Manager Aaron Bloxham, who drew the home teams, and Halstead Town Manager Mark McLean, who drew the away sides.

Holders Braintree Town will travel to Stanway Rovers as they start their defence of the trophy. EFL League Two’s Colchester United will play host to Isthmian League North side Heybridge Swifts.

Aaron’s side, White Ensign, will be making the trip to Canvey Island, who are currently playing in the Isthmian Premier Division. Whereas Mark’s Halstead Town team will host National League South side Chelmsford City.

Other notable ties see National League sides Southend United and Dagenham & Redbridge facing Redbridge and Basildon United respectively.

The Third Round will also play host to a Tendering derby, as FC Clacton host Little Oakley in what is an all-Essex Senior League tie. Last season’s beaten finalists Concord Rangers will receive a bye into Round Four.
