Managers Look Forward to BBC Essex Senior Cup Final

Tickets Still Available for Canvey Island vs Hornchurch

Pitching-In Isthmian League Premier Division club Canvey Island and Vanarama National League South side Hornchurch go head-to-head in the BBC Essex Senior Cup Final this Tuesday (18th March) at Colchester United FC’s JobServe Community Stadium (kick-off 7:45pm), and tickets remain on sale for the big match.

The showpiece fixture is expected to attract a large crowd, and tickets are available both in advance and on the night. Parking information is available for supporters below, with tickets/permits priced at £15 for adults, £8 for seniors aged 65+ and under 18s, and £2 for under 16s. Hornchurch supporters will be situated in Blocks 1-3 of the West Stand, while Canvey fans can watch from Blocks 7-9 of the West Stand.

Both managers have spoken ahead of the big match, and Canvey boss, Brad Wellmen, said: “As coaches, you look back at the things you’ve won, and we’ve got an opportunity to win it again for the club. It gives us that lift to look forward to something. We’re up against Hornchurch, who won our league last year, and playing at Colchester’s stadium is something the players will love.”

Meanwhile, Hornchurch’s Daryl McMahon explained: “We’ve worked hard and have played every game away from home in the competition. So, to lift it would be great for everyone involved at the club who have travelled to all the games in the previous rounds. But we face a stiff test in Canvey and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Supporters can take advantage of the Park & Ride facilities in Cuckoo Farm Way. Further premium parking spaces at the stadium can be booked at the point of purchasing a ticket online. Bars and refreshments will be readily available around the stadium and free matchday programmes can be obtained as a memento of the match.

And it’ll be more than just a hugely-anticipated match at the JobServe Community Stadium, as the Essex County FA once again stage popular Referee and Coach Workshops with FIFA and Premier League referee, Sam Barrott, and Millwall FC Head of Coaching, Dan Mlinar. Plus, the FA Cup silverware will also be in attendance, providing an incredible photo opportunity!

Elsewhere in the stadium on the night, many progressive elements of the Essex County FA’s new #MovingForward 2028 Strategy will be shared, as well as presentations to long service award winners. Special guests who play a key part in Essex grassroots football will be in attendance, including referees and representatives from local clubs and leagues.

There will also be an opportunity to find out more about charity Anthony Nolan, and partners from Essex’s local authorities will be present, while England Futsal, Active Essex, Kick it Out and the Frank Soo Foundation will also be welcomed. In addition, BBC Essex will be continuing their support of the competition with coverage from the stadium.
