Essex County FA Youth Forum Support Anthony Nolan Charity
The incredible people who donate their stem cells through Anthony Nolan are saving lives right now. Four lives a day, in fact. And the Essex County FA Youth Forum are excited to be working with the charity, who make life-saving connections between people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
A new project is aspiring to raise awareness of the stem cell register by establishing ten to twelve ‘ambassadors’ within each community club/league setting who will, in turn, be able to run recruitment events (following training) and help the charity reach their aim of 1 million people on the stem cell register (which currently has 900,000 individuals).
How can the Essex football community help? The Youth Forum would like to set-up the ambassador programme through their links with the community of football clubs and leagues. This project will be supported by Youth Forum members (a group of 14 young people aged 15-24) who have identified Anthony Nolan as a charity to support.
Interested in getting involved? A recruiter training session, led by a representative from the charity, is taking place on Monday 23rd February from 6:30-7:30pm (online). Clubs and leagues who are interested in being ambassadors can attend to receive further insight, training and guidance.
If your club or league would like to be involved in the training session (up to a maximum of three representatives), please complete this form. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lana Gillard (lana.gillard@essexfa.com) or Sian Hillis (sian.hillis@essexfa.com).
