Hashtag United Begin Defence of BBC Essex Women's Cup
Holders Hashtag United now know who stands in their way of a place in the final four of the BBC Essex Women’s Cup after the draw for the Quarter-Finals was broadcast on Friday 20th December by the competition’s supporters.
Colchester United FC’s JobServe Community Stadium will play host to this final in 2025, so the clubs in the last eight will be keen to take those last few steps towards that showpiece event on Thursday 10th April. Hashtag United, from the FA Women’s National League, host Hashtag United Reserves in the last eight, who won 3-0 at Chigwell in the last round.
Several other intriguing ties were generated, with clubs from Tier 5 and above joining from this stage. Eastern Region Women’s League club Bowers & Pitsea will entertain Billericay Town of the National League. Lawford, 3-1 victors at home to Toby at the last stage, have earned a fixture against Barking from the London & South-East Regional League.
Following their 3-0 home triumph against Billericay Town Reserves, Chelmsford City now face She Can Play Panthers, 2-1 winners at Colchester United. There were two guests to assist with the draw proceedings. Warren Muggleton from BBC Essex drew out the home clubs, while Mark Wallis of the Essex County FA’s Cups & Competitions Department was responsible for the away sides.
Those ties are due to take place on Sunday 19th January. All the BBC Essex Women’s Cup information you need to know can be found here or on our social media accounts, where you can also discover how to nominate someone for a Long Service Award.
