34 clubs and centres nationwide deliver coaching and education to the best young female footballers in the country. Essex’s talented young footballers can put themselves forward for places at the RTC, which will again be responsible for the delivery of elite girls’ football development in 2017/18. RTCs deliver enhanced coaching and support female players’ potential paths along the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway.
The licensees are grouped into three tiers, dependent on their facilities, workforce, coach and player development, performance service provision and the number of age groups they will work with. They have FA funding aligned to their tier, which they are required to ‘match fund’ a percentage of, and increased FA support. Essex are in Tier Two of three, and they’re the only County FA in the country to have attained one of the prestigious licenses.
RTC age groups run alongside the academic year, starting in September. The Under 10s and 12s teams compete in FA Charter Standard youth leagues to enable players to further develop both technically and physically. The older age groups play in FA-organised fixture programmes against other RTCs. These four Essex age groups are now accepting nominations:
Under 12s (Years Six and Seven on 1st September 2017): 10:00am-12:00pm
Under 10s (Years Four and Five on 1st September 2017): 1:00-3:00pm
Under 16s (Years Ten and Eleven on 1st September 2017): 1:00-3:00pm
Under 14s (Years Eight and Nine on 1st September 2017): 3:00-5:00pm
Invitational (Second) Trial: Sunday 25th June 2017 (further details provided if successful)
Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before your trial. Trials will be taking place on a 3G pitch where only moulded or studded boots can be worn. Players are also expected to wear shin pads, bring drinks and have the correct clothing for all weather conditions.
