Good referees are role models, professional, approachable, reliable, empathetic, advocates of fair play, teachers and upholders of the laws of the game. Good referees are not dismissive, negative, unfair, aggressive or disorganised.
Good referees are leaders and their behaviours impact those around them, valuing the safety, respect, learning and engagement of everyone involved. Be that positive influence. Be part of the reason why people love the game, not leave the game. Be a positive role model.
