The Moving Forward Strategy 2024 is a comprehensive plan launched by the Football Association (FA) to drive positive change and improve the culture within football. The strategy is focused on three main areas: governance, inclusion and respect, and football development.

Governance: The FA is committed to improving governance within football by increasing transparency and accountability. This includes implementing a new governance code, which will set out clear standards for how football organisations should operate, and establishing an independent governance review panel to oversee compliance.

Inclusion and Respect: The FA is committed to creating a more inclusive and respectful culture within football. This includes implementing a new Football Leadership Diversity Code, which sets out commitments for organisations to improve diversity and inclusion in their leadership, and rolling out a new education program to promote respect and inclusion throughout the game.

Football Development: The FA is committed to improving the standard of football in England by investing in grassroots and professional development. This includes investing in new facilities, coaching and training programs, and supporting the development of talented young players.

The Moving Forward Strategy 21-24 is a long-term plan, and the FA will be working closely with organizations and stakeholders across the game to deliver on its commitments. Progress will be regularly reviewed and reported on to ensure accountability and transparency.

What does this mean for Essex?

Essex CFA have developed an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy to promote and achieve greater equality, diversity and inclusion within our workforce, operations, and the communities we serve.

Within the EDI strategy, we have considered elements such as Developing Action Plans, Providing Training and Education, Monitoring and Reporting alongside many other aspects.
